S. F. Said (born ) is a British children's writer.

His first novel was Varjak Paw (), illustrated by Dave McKean and published by David Fickling Books in January ; four months later in the U.S.,[1]Varjak Paw won the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize.[2] The sequel, The Outlaw Varjak Paw (), won the Blue Peter Book of the Year.
