Early Life and Education
Born into poverty on June 7, 1951, in Nassau, Philip Davis spent his early childhood on Cat Island with his brother, grandmother, and grandfather.
He attended Old Bight Public School there before returning to Nassau to complete his education at Eastern Schools and St. John's College.
Political Career
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of WorksDavis entered politics in 2002 as a Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) member of Parliament for the Cat Island, Rum Cay, and San Salvador constituency.
Following the PLP's victory in the 2012 elections, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Works and Urban Development under Perry Christie.
